"On the Balcony of Orange Street"

This two part book is my attempt at telling the story of the lost and found photographs of a dutch engineer in Suriname. The book invites the readers to take in the period scenery before slowly revealing the village where it all took place. Originally captured in the 1900s, the photographs have been collected from the Rijks Museum archive and repurposed into this book.

"Boombox Introspective"

There is no better way to change the atmosphere than putting down a boombox. What's more characteristic of 21st century self ingenuity than making your own devices out of dicarded equipment? Duchamp started in 1913, Tom Sachs in 1999 and with still so much junk around, working like this is still relevant to this day. On one hand, mass production has taken over the world, producing shitty electronics products without rest, but on the other this abundance has been the biggest source of inspiration to art since the readymade. A speaker like this could've been built decades ago, but it still works and looks better than any AliExpress speaker today. But would it have?
